Maritimetrainer Online E-learning  System and Cookies

Please read this policy in conjunction with our privacy notice, which sets out additional details on how we use personally identifiable information and your various rights.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small pieces of text sent by your web browser by a website you visit. A cookie file is stored in your web browser and allows the site or a third-party to recognise you, making your next visit easier and the site more useful to you. Essentially, cookies are a user’s identification card for the Maritimetrainer servers. Web beacons are small graphic files linked to our servers that allow us to track your use of our site and related functionalities. Cookies and web beacons allow us to serve you better and more efficiently and to personalise your experience on our site.

Why use it?

The purpose of cookies is to make it easier for users visiting our website. Cookies can also be used to speed up the activities and experiences you will have on our sites in the future. We also use cookies to assemble anonymous and aggregated statistical data that helps us understand how people use our sites and to help improve our sites and content. This information is not information that can provide us with your identification.

Cookies Used On the  Site

Two cookies are used in the Maritimetrainer Online Learning System.

1. One of the required ones is the session cookie named MoodleSession. You need to allow this cookie to prevent the frequent closing of your session while browsing through the pages. If you log out or close your Internet browser, this cookie will be deleted both from your computer and from the server

 2. The other cookie is a cookie called MOODLEID, which is used to improve your experience. The cookie only remembers your username in your browser. So, when you come back to this site, the username field on your login page will be filled in for you. You may not agree to use this cookie. But in this case, you must re-enter your username every time you visit our website.

Where can I get more detailed information about cookies?

The contents of cookie texts are often of nature to be understood by engineers. We recommend that you visit www.allaboutcookies.org or www.aboutcookies.org (in English) if you would like to receive information in a more detailed and understandable language about cookies.
